Are You Having Fun…

One of the things I regret in my online career is how I let the whole internet thing consume me right up to the point when I stopped having fun. I learned to ride when I was 40 (18 years ago) and became pretty much obsessed with horses up to the point where I ended up owning 2 of them. I loved the lifestyle and when I look back, the six years I was heavily involved with them were probably the healthiest I’ve been throughout my adult life. (All that fresh air and hard work despite falling off several times).

I discovered Internet marketing back in 2002 and found a new obsession which unfortunately started to take over my life more and more. The problem with this particular obsession was it was nowhere as healthy as my previous one and despite becoming incredibly successful, I found it was to the detriment of my health. (I still suffer the effects nowadays). I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it yet again, there’s no point in making a ton of money if you’re too dead to spend and enjoy it.

After taking 3 years off, I came back online about 4 years ago with a much more sensible attitude, I’d reduced my hours at the hospital where I work plus I took a much different approach to IM, (I didn’t let it rule my life) and I reduced what I was doing online.

Am I making as much money online as I did previously? Nope but I’m making enough to keep me happy.

Do I obsess about my online business? Nope because it is what it is and I’m lucky enough to have people around me who help me manage it.

Am I having fun? Oh boy I surely am…
My 10 year old granddaughter is probably as obsessed about horses as I was/am (She says I’m her horse buddy) and just recently we got her a pony share with a gorgeous pony called Ethel.

Yup I’m in love again and I’ve rediscovered how healthy it is to be around horses, (Mentally as well as physically). A bonus is my bad back seems to be improving with the amount of walking/exercise I’m having whilst helping to look after Ethel.

I’m not riding, I don’t bounce as well as I did nearly 20 years ago but I’m having great fun helping out and watching Jesk learn to ride.

So my question to you is, Are you having fun, Have you remembered to get away from the computer once in a while and go for a walk, smell spring in the air or even just go to the gym and get some exercise? Because I can guarantee if you do, you’ll find not only your health improves but also your mindset, which in turn can only help your business.

A win win situation when you think about it :-)
